The next track is already in your library.
You just can't remember it.

Not what everyone else plays next - what's in your own crates. DJNext scores your whole library against what's playing - key, tempo, genre, the crates you built - and surfaces the records you'd reach for, if you could remember they existed.

no card required · never touches your library · only suggests what you can play

You're not short on compatible tracks

With a few thousand records in one genre lane, most of your library fits what's playing. The problem under pressure is remembering that. DJNext optimizes for novelty, constrained hard by what's actually mixable next.

Reads your library, live

Serato DJ, djay Pro, Rekordbox or VirtualDJ on your laptop - or straight from the players: Denon DJ, Numark and Rane over StageLinQ, Pioneer DJ and AlphaTheta over Pro DJ Link. Auto-detected, and switchable on the fly.

Scores what's mixable

Harmonic key, tempo, genre, and your own hand-built crates - weighted from real tuning data, not a guess at what "should" matter.

Your crates, not the crowd's

Thousands of your tracks fit key and tempo. DJNext ranks toward the ones you've forgotten - your own edits and promos included - not the records everyone else is playing, and never one you don't have.

Learns from your sets

Moves you keep pulling early drop down the list, and after a few sets DJNext follows the tempo shape of your nights - when you build, when you peak.

For your set, and the people listening

Suggestions are the core. Around them, the things a working DJ actually needs on the night - and after it.

Your own request page add-on

Listeners search your library and send requests from their phones, and see what you just played. It follows your set live, and you open or close requests from the booth. Embed it on your WordPress site, or add the Twitch panel so viewers never leave your stream.

Now playing on stream

An OBS overlay that slides in with the track, artist, key and BPM whenever the track changes. Restyle it to match your stream.

Plan a set, then play it

Build a set ahead of time at djnext.live and follow it on your phone as you go, with what you've played ticked off. When the room goes somewhere else, re-plan from wherever you are.

Your set list, emailed

When the set's over, what you played lands in your inbox, in order. No more trying to remember what that track in the second hour was.

In the booth

Suggestions on your phone, or on a tablet next to your players with the DJNext tablet app. Nothing to type into a laptop mid-set.

Learns from many DJs, suggests only from you

Every suggestion comes from your own library. DJNext does learn from DJs who opt in - which kinds of key, tempo and genre moves tend to get pulled early - as patterns, never linked to you. One switch on your account page opts you out, and nothing else changes.

Does the free trial need a card?+
No. Fourteen days, email only. If you don't continue, it just lapses - nothing to cancel.
Will DJNext change my crates, playlists or music files?+
No. DJNext only reads - your library, your crates and your play history. It never edits a tag, renames or moves a file, or changes a crate or playlist, whether it's reading your DJ software or the USB drive in a player.
Does DJNext replace my DJ software?+
No - it runs alongside whichever one you're already using, and you keep mixing in it exactly as before.
How does DJNext suggest tracks?+
It starts from what's playing and throws out anything that won't mix - wrong key, or a tempo too far to reach. What's left is usually still thousands of tracks, so the real work is ranking them. DJNext leans toward records you own but haven't been reaching for, trusts the crates you built by hand, and leads with something from the same crate if the current track came from one. The picks are spread across different artists and directions, and the last one is a go-to: a compatible track you play a lot and usually keep, for when you want something safe (until you've built up some history, that slot is a wildcard instead). It only suggests tracks on a drive that's actually plugged in, and over time it learns which kinds of moves you keep playing and which you pull early.
How is this different from apps that suggest what other DJs play?+
Those suggest from what the crowd plays after a track. That's handy for discovering records, but it pulls every set toward the same popular picks, and plenty of what it suggests isn't in your library at all. DJNext only ever suggests tracks you own and can play right now, and leans toward the ones you've stopped reaching for - built to make your set sound more like you, not more like everyone else's. It works for music nobody else has, too: your own edits, promos and unreleased tracks get suggested like anything else, once your DJ software has analyzed their key and tempo.
Does DJNext use my play history?+
For you, yes - it's how DJNext knows what you've worn out. Across DJs, only as patterns: it pools which kinds of move (a key change, a tempo jump, a genre switch) tend to get pulled early, and uses that to rank suggestions better for everyone. Your Season page also shows tracks trending across DJNext - played by at least five DJs that week, never who. DJNext never suggests a track because other DJs play it, never tells anyone what you played, and never sells or shares your data. Don't want to take part? Switch off "Improving DJNext" on your account page - everything else works exactly the same.
Does it work with standalone players, with no laptop DJ software?+

Yes. DJNext works with StageLinQ-capable players - Denon DJ, Numark and Rane standalones and players running Engine DJ - and Pro DJ Link-capable players - Pioneer DJ and AlphaTheta CDJs, XDJs and standalones. Run it on a laptop or the DJNext tablet app on the same network: it finds the players on its own, reads the music on the USB drive in the player, and follows what you're playing live. Every suggestion is a track you can load right there.

Setup takes a minute - see Engine DJ or Pioneer in the help guide.

I run more than one of those. Do I have to pick?+
No - DJNext auto-detects what's installed, and if you have more than one, you can switch which one it's reading live, with no restart.
Does "now playing" update the instant a track starts?+
Depends which software you're running. An Engine or Pioneer player updates within about three seconds of a track starting - DJNext follows the players directly, so mid-mix it switches to the track you're bringing in. Serato shows a track 45 seconds after you load it, and one you load on the other deck once the playing track is over, so a track you cue and swap out never counts. Rekordbox varies: usually somewhere between a few seconds and about a minute, because Rekordbox itself only commits a play to its own history after you've been on the track a while - that's Rekordbox's own behavior, not something DJNext is slow to notice. VirtualDJ is similar and more predictable: it counts a track as played once it has been audible for 45 seconds (you can change that in VirtualDJ's settings), so a headphone cue - faded out on the channel fader or the crossfader - never counts, and a track you bring in mid-mix shows up about 45 seconds after it becomes audible, whatever the other deck is doing. djay Pro can lag the most: while two tracks are playing together, djay simply won't register the new one as "now playing" until you stop a deck - it can stay fully playing the whole time both decks are running, then catch up the instant something stops. Play one track at a time and it updates immediately, same as the others.
Does a lag in "now playing" affect my suggestions?+
No - suggestions and play counts still land correctly once a track registers, they just show up later on djay during an overlapping mix. Nothing is ever lost or double-counted; it's purely a timing thing, not a data thing.
What happens if the venue wifi is bad?+
Suggestions keep working locally even if the network drops - a bad connection degrades gracefully instead of killing your set.
